I am leaving tomorrow morning for Marble and I am so ready. It's gonna be great. I can't wait to get there and have some quality time where I can focus and carve and just Slow Down. It's a great place for me to re-charge, re-motivate and re-aquainted myself with how much I love to make art.
It definitely will be a good chance for me to get my mind off of other things like the on-going sale of my house (still in escrow, currently in month four!) and all of my preparations for Burning Man. I am excited about going to Burning Man again but I need to stop thinking about that for the time being and just be in the Marble Mindset. I will have two weeks after I get home from Colorado to focus on Burning Man and finish my bicycle wheel sculpture, so nothing to worry about. Everything is under control.
Anyway, I won't be posting for the next four weeks as I will be completely removed from the world of the internet but I will write about my upcoming adventures when I get back. Meanwhile, I have posted an image to my website of my latest completed alabaster sculpture, Growth Emerging. Check it out.
See you next month!
Road Travel Tip of the Day: Books on CD.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: books on CD help any long distance drive go by really, really fast. I've got all kinds of CDs ready for this year's trip. Fortunately, I'll have company on the drive out so that will help a lot to pass the time. But when you are alone, nothing beats the books.
